About the Role
Applied Impact Robotics has an immediate opening for an Engineer or Technical Specialist. The position is full time on site in Sterling, VA.
This is a robotics development program for a prototype to meet customer needs through a series of demonstrational milestones. The position will report to a lead engineer and program director for technical and programmatic guidance. An ideal candidate is self-motivated, organized, creative, collaborative, and focused on meeting goals.
Requirements
Required skills:
Design and fabrication of mechanical devices
Basic electronics and circuit design
Test design and quality assurance
Shop tools and hand tools
Shop safety
Technical communications
Understanding of specification and data sheets
CAD (Onshape preferred)
Strongly preferred skills:
Experience in remote robotics, specifically UUV systems
Experience with motors, controllers and power systems
Experience with Arduino, C programming
Experience with Raspberry Pi, Python programming
Laser cuttingÂ
3D printing
CNC operation
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field
5+ years experience in robotics system design
Additional skills of value:
Simulation software (FEA, CFD, with Simulink, Nastran, Matlab, etc.)
CAM (Fusion 360 or other CNC programming tool)
Materials sourcing
Project planning and scheduling (Trello, Asana, etc)
Microsoft Office and Google Docs
Experience in the Oil and Gas industry
Experience with product certification
